The lecture discussed the topic of disfranchisement in classical Athens (5th-4th Centuries BC). Since the Greek term for disfranchisement was "atimia", which literally means loss of honor(s) (time = honor), disfranchisement was presented in the contexts of value, social and legal systems as a mirror image of frequent awarding of various honors to citizens and non-citizens.
Besides, the theory of the so called archaic atimia was discussed, which allegedly did not involve mere disfranchisement, but total outlawry.
