The author presents five new pieces of rare pennies with the Czech lion and eagle. Author summarizes current knowledge about this coin and after their confrontation with the new findings, he inclined to believe that this is a small coin from period of Prague grossi, coined in the mint in Kutna Hora between 1376-1382 probably in parallel with a similar penny with a lion and crown.
Updated metrological data (weight) shows that the weight of the pennies minted probably at the same time is identical. The metrological parameters and documentary sources suggest that the nominal value of this penny was 1/14 of Prague grossi.
The first documented finding of coin in the Czech republic supports the view that the coin is of Czech origin.
