Abstract

The lipase from Pseudomonas fluorescens was immobilized into various hydrophobic silica sol-gels and then characterized by means of testing its hydrolytic and transesterification activity. The prepared lipase catalysts were then used in the synthesis of esters of racemic 9-(2,3-dihydroxypropyl)adenine (DHPA), an antiviral compound.
