Abstract
This article describes the influence of famous Czech writer, but also a lawyer Karel Jaromír Erben on the formation of modern Czech legal language. At the beginning it mentions Erben's education and his legal praxis.
Then it continues with his studies of legal history and works on the Czech legal language, especially translation of Austrian codes into Czech. In the end it describes Erben's publication activities in the field of law.
