Abstract
The book contains commented critical edition of the manuscript „Geschichte der königlichen Stadt Nimburg“ written by Josef Merkl (1761-1833), its translation to Czech language and edition of two complementary sources. The edition is preceded by the biographical sketch of the author and the studies concerning his historical work and his language.
Merkl´s work on history of the royal city Nymburk presents the first synthetical attempt on this topic.
