Abstract
Diabetes mellitus type 2 is often associated with other disorders or diseases. As early as the seventh book of the series Current diabetology progressively analyzes the relation between type 2 diabetes and insulin resistance, hypertension (high blood pressure), hyperlipidemia (high levels of blood lipids) and hyperuricemia (gout).
It summarizes the current knowledge, recalls the new discoveries and presents promising directions of current research.
