Sex chromosome system of the spider Tegenaria ferruginea (Agelenidae)includes cryptic neo-sex chromosomes

Abstract

Agelenid spider Tegenaria ferruginea has a neo-sex system X1X2X3X4X5Y. Analysis of spread synaptonemal complexes at a high resolution of transmission electron microscope revealed an unusual type of sex chromosome pairing in pachytene.
