The participation of chloride ions in the cardiac transient outward current, the possible role of the arrhythmogenesis

Abstract

In the myocardium of rabbit ventricle is very pronounced transient outward current (Ito). The large component of rabbit Ito is chloride current, which is blockable by SITS (stilbene derivative).

The possible role of chloride current as a component of Ito can play in the proarrhythmogeneity is discussed.
