CNS excitability and pain perception in two strain of mice afflicted with the same type of cerebellar degeneration (Lurcher mutants)

Abstract

This study showed a higher reaction to a strong sound stimulus and to a nociceptive stimulation in animals afflicted by the olivocerebellar degeneration in comparison with healthy controls. This supports a new conception of the cerebellum in participation in high order nervous processes.
