Progelatinase B/Matrix Metalloproteinase-9 Proenzyme as a marker of pleural inflammation

Abstrakt

ProMMP-9 in pleural fluids of patients undergoing talc pleurodesis and thoracoscopy was compared to traditional proinflammatory markers. A rapid, correlated increase presents proMMP-9 as a novel early indicator of acute host-response in pleural space.
