Chronic atropine administration diminishes the controbution of vasoactive intestinal polypeptide to heart rate regulation

Abstrakt

The impact of atropine administration on VIP levels in rat heart was studied in relation to heart rate during vagus nerve stimulation. Chronic atropine administration affects VIP synthesis in rat heart and it this modifies the heart rate regulation.
