Regional cooling of the extracorporeal blood circuit: a novel anticoagulation approach for renal replacement therapy?

Abstrakt

Cooling of the blood decreases its ability to clot. This paper presents data showing that regional cooling of the extracorporeal blood circuit enables to realize the continuous hemofiltration without the need of any anticoagulation.
