Importance of serum (Na) and (Cl) difference in acid-base status classification

Abstrakt

Difference of plasma (Na) a (Cl) concentration is an important factor affecting acid base status. Due to the wide range of physiologic values, the difference might be altered despite the individual (Na) and (Cl) concentrations beeing in physiologic range thus affecting the acid-base balance.
