To compare the efficiency and biological impact of pneumatically versus neurally triggered ventilation (NAVA) in lung-injured children. NAVA increases efficiency and quality of ventilation, accelerates conversion to spontaneous breathing and minimizes the systemic inflammatory response.
Children in this study tolerated this mode well and were perfectly synchronized with the NAVA device. Tracheal aspirate immunoassay data of bookmarks correspond to the data in parallel down the patient's serum.
