Abstract

Skeleton of a more than 50 year old male buried in the 2nd - 3rd century necropolis of Isola Sacra near Rome aroused attention because of areas of neo-proloferative bone formations on surface of different bones (except for the not preserved calvaria). Radiological and histological examination have ascertained a polytopic pathological proces affecting besides the axial skeleton also the proximal bones of both extremities.
