Abstract
Venom immunotherapy represents the only causative treatment of hymenoptera venom allergy. This therapy significanly reduces the risk of reccurence of systemic sting reaction and improves the prognosis of hymenoptera venom allergic patients.
The duration of venom therapy is 5 years. Venom immunotherapy is indicated in patients with clinical history of systemic sting reaction and confirmed IgE sensitization to insect venom.
