Abstract
In Europe, but increasingly we see as a borderland such as mediation for cross-border cooperation, which often resulted in the institutionalization of cross-border region. Historical heritage of this region, however, determined significantly its current development.
This article attempts characteristics of cross-border region as a new phenomenon in geography on example Euroregion Silva Nortica in borderland of South Bohemia and Lower Austria.
