Evidence for cytochrome P450-dependent covalent binding of antitumor drug ellipticine to DNA

Abstract

Ellipticine is an antitumor drug interacting with DNA by inteacalation. We demonstrate a covalent binding of this drug after its activation by CYP in vitro, which might be a new mechanism of its antitumoric action
