The refractory form of autoimmune myasthenia gravis lowers the quality of life and leads to increased incidence of fatal complications. Authors confirmed the favorable effect of mycophenolate mofetil in a group of 21 patients not responding to conventional therapeutic procedures.
Positive effect of treatment was demonstrated by the decrease of quantified myasthenic score and lowering the original dose of steroids. Adverse effects were mostly insignificant, even though in 4 cases they lead to termination of treatment shortly after initiation
