Abstract

Major problem for interwar Czechoslovakia (1918-1939) were minority issues, above all the large German minority. Was an attempt to create legislation that would be acceptable especially for the Germans, but at the same time would not be a potential threat to the stability of the state.

The most important were the basic laws of the State (including the Constitution, constitutional Language Law, "župní" law - administration reform) adopted on the 29th February 1920. Creation of these standards was significantly influenced by Kramář.

He promoted the interests of Czech nationalism.
