Abstract

Regardless of the diversity of different presented views on environmental education, and besides its many existing types, a common motive can be traced throughout all of them: stress on the participative approach of the individual in the world by human engagement in its problems. This requirement could change educational aims and practices, and slowly influence underlying theory and methodological concepts.

Chapter outlines the main principles of such envisaged "paradigm shift".
