Abstract
This text gives an overview of the approach of economy towards the environment. To enable the inclusion of environmental topic into economy, it is necessary to define this term as subject to the rules of economic discourse.
This means that within the framework of the economic paradigm the general notion of environment is inevitably reduced so as to be present in it at all, and it fulfills the role assigned to it by the paradigm. In the text a short historical overview is presented of the ways the economic discourse has addressed this notion and which significant concepts are related to it nowadays.
