Abstract
The theme of book is characterization of information resources for branch geography. With the aim of collection, description, analysis and evaluation of these sources (Czech and foreign, printed and electronic).
The introduction presents the definition of the subject of geography and it also outlines its classification. Main attention was devoted to specialized printed bibliographies and electronic databases, especially GeoRef, GeoBase, GeoWeb, and other information resources.
Second part devotes to particular problems of geographic information like terminology of geography or cartographic documents. Institutional baseline of subject, universities, geographic societies are introduced like key places for getting information, contacts and professional progress.
There are also noted main trends of future possible progress of information resources.
