Model of spike propagation reliability along the myelinated axon corrupted by axonal intrinsic noise sources

Abstract

We used the computer modeling and simulation to evaluate a variability of spike travel times along the myelinated axon. This variability was very small, depending on the axonal diameter, axonal length, myelinization, level of the noise etc.
