Myths and "Reality" of Central-European Cities

Abstract

The indicator of myths as a tool for analysis was chosen for its ability to present the city in its entirety and wholeness. We understand myth to be a verbalized ideological idea of one or more generations, an idea with whose help are asserted, justified and reproduced majority and minority group interests and values and/or as a verbalized concept with the help of which society compensates for real or imagined injustice, tragedy, etc.

Our concept is thus close to the understanding of the British anthropologist B. Malinowski.
