Abstract
The project CITIES is presented on the website http://cities.eu.org/. This website shows and provides materials, which are prepared in five languages (and some parts in other three languages).
On CITIES website we can find, how the chemical achievements reflect everyday life, the latitude and the content of the chemical industry, profiles of important chemical companies in various countries including a virtual company tour and profiles of some people who work in the chemical industry - their work and experience. Teachers can get three attractive sets of experiments on this website.
There is also a model of a „chemical travelling briefcase" with simple experiments and corresponding presentations, ideas, advice and contacts for the realisation of some excursions in chemical companies. All these products of the project aim to give to teachers the materials they need to convince students about the importance of chemistry in the modern society.
