Aspartate Aminotransferase (AST) more than Alanine Aminotransferase (ALT) Leves Predict the Progression of Liver Fibrosis in Chronic HCV Infection

Abstract

In a group of patients with chronic hepatitis C the serum activity of ALT and AST was compared with the severity of liver fibrosis. AST activity tended to be higher in advanced liver fibrosis than ALT activity.
