Abstract
The thesis aims to identify alkali-silica reaction in concrete samples and experimental mortar specimens. A modification of the conventionally used mortar bar method (following the ASTM C1260 standard) by an after-test petrographic investigation of mortar bar specimens was incorporated into the updated version of the Czech Technical Regulation TP 137 (the complex of methods regulating aggregates testing for ASR in the Czech Republic).
