Organoantimony(III) and organobismuth(III) sulfides, containing O,C,O chelating ligands were prepared by the reaction of parent organoantimony and organobismuth chlorides with sodium sulfide in toluene/water. All sulfides were characterized by the help of elemental analysis, ESI ? mass spectrometry, NMR spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction techniques.
Organoantimony sulfides are stable both in solution and in the solid state in contrast to organobismuth congener which is stable at -30°C, however decomposes at ambient temperature.
