Abstract
After the closure of municipal landfill occurs due to uneven settlement of the surface to the risk of failure the sealing layer. Contribution by the procedure for establishing the risk of a failure sealing layer on the basis of several monitored landfills in the Czech Republic.
A necessary condition for long-term geodetic measurements are indicated points installed on the surface of the landfill, to establish and then interpret the results of the size of the surface settlement of the landfill, development in time and regular or irregular settlement. For design of the landfill closure is an important value of the expected size of the total settlement, on the need to increase landfill, after the total settlement reached projected height.
Quite a difficult task seems to specify the value of the limits of irregular settlement surface of the landfill, which will probably be subject to further investigation and discussions
