Diversity of microfungi on litter needles of Pinus sylvestris and Picea abies

Publication

Abstract

We aimed at less studied habitats in coniferous litter and fungi associated not only with Pinus sylvestris and Picea abies. We adopted traditional cultivation techniques and up-to-date molecular biology methods.

A new species of the genus Fusicladium was described. We further aimed at phylogenetic affinities of isolates of the genus Chalara isolated from needles of P. abies.

We selected around thirty isolates having characteristics of C. longipes and C. austriaca. We separated them into several morphotypes based on analyse sof ITS and LSU rDNA.
