The prevalence and role of hemochromatosis gene mutations C282Y, H63D, and S65C in patients with systemic rheumatoid disease

Abstract

The aim of the study was to find out whether HFE gene plays a role in the pathogenesis of rheumatic diseases. Heterozygous status for C282Y mutation in HFE gene may be a risk factor for juvenile idiopathic arthritis
