Abstract

The doctoral thesis is focused on tle problem of gaining empirical knowledge in chemistry education, on tle acguirement of related competences, and on tle activities which would contribute to the improvements in chemistry education. Research concerns the level of mastery of the general components of science literacy among students of secondary schools.

The thesis includes sets of experiments for independent students work and materials for the e-learning chemistry course Biochemistry - Natural substances, which was practically implemented and verified.
