Necrogeography: contribution of geography to the study of dead and cemeteries

Abstract

The aim of proposed paper is to highlight the significance of cemeteries, death and burial research and to provoke an interest in such geographical study. Geography should contribute to death research by searching of spatial conjunctions and by analysis of regional differentiation, especially by applying of New cultural geography concepts which put an emphasis on identity research, sense of place and heritage.

Cemetery is the part of landscape and is significant from the view of historical documentation and regional heritage.
