Abstract

The paper is focused on assigning spatial distribution and classification of patterned ground in the Czech part of The Giant Mountains National Park. The area is limited to peak parts eastward from Čertova meadow and Stříbrný ridge.

Patterned ground is classified as: unsorted stripe, peat hummock, sorted stripe, sorted circle, sorted polygon and sorted net. The main data source was taken from papers published in Opera Corcontica (M.

Kociánová a H. Štursová, 39/2002). However, ortofotomaps, stereoscopy pictures and data based on field study provided by Křížek, Treml, Engel (rok) are also considered.

Given data were revised by own field study during 20. 8. and 20. 11. 2005. The morphometry was executed according to methodology described by Křížek et al. (in print).

The main output of this paper is a map of geographical distribution of patterned ground on the interested area of The Giants Mountains.
