Spatio-temporal modeling by field computers with GPS

Abstract

In order to demonstrate environmental mapping and spatio-temporal modeling by field computing, an attached case study has been developed to show monitoring and modeling of water quality in the small catchments. Water quality assessment is based on the GPS high-accuracy data collection for development of the local digital terrain model, the location of hydrometric profiles, and the measurement of selected water quality indicators.

The indicators are selected from the sets of general physical and chemical indicators, specific organic substances, metals and metalloids, microbiological and biological indicators and radiological indicators. The built-in compartment models deal with catchment characteristics extended by land cover attributes.
