The biological soil crusts in Central European ecosystems, with special reference to taxonomic structure and ecology of the surface crusts at Czech ore-waste and ash-slag sedimentation basins

Abstract

During three years the complex research of biological soil crusts in several natural and anthropogenic habitats in the Czech Republic was carried out. Cyanobacteria, algae, microscopic fungi, lichens, liverworts and mosses were investigated.

Moreover, the effect of unrepeated disturbance to species composition of biological crusts was tested.
