Abstract
The aim of the paper is to draw attention to the unique position of the marginal areas in the regional system. Because of the weak local political power, local social capital and wide public support, are most of the marginalized spaces not able to influence their own development.
Military training areas (MTA) are the exemplar in the Czech dimension. MTA belong to the most valuable environment in the Middle European context.
On the basis of the foreign practices represents sound tourism one of the possible instrument in the process of their reverse regional integration.
