The article is a critical study which attempts to consider some important aspects of the interpretation of philosophy of George Gemistos Plethon as provided by B. Tambrun-Krasker.
The study concentrates particularly (although not exclusively) on her book Pléthon, le retour de Platon. It shows that especially author’s attempt to demonstrate an influence of Islamic thought (the school of Suhrawardī) on this thinker is untenable.
Also author’s emphasis on the role which is given to positive theology in Plethon’s thought seems to be exaggerated.
