In 2008, ichthyofauna on the upper plateau of the Jizera Mts was studied, with focus on its structure and individual fitness in the era of recovery from anthropogenic acidification. The research was conducted in six sampling periods to represent the whole range of physical and chemical parameters of streams during the season.
In each of those periods, stream water was sampled for chemistry, benthic organisms for determination of the food for fishes, and fish to learn about the structure of fish populations in the studied streams. In the Černá Nisa stream we analyzed deformations of fish branchial apparatus.
