Publication at Faculty of Science |
2008

Abstract

The catching and ringing of Greylag Goose in the Czech Republic started in 1936. Only small number of geese was ringed up to 1955.

Several field-working groups aimed at catching and marking of Greylag Goose (i.e. flightless moulting adults and flightless goslings) were founded since 1955. Recovery rate increased remarkably by using neckbands in 1980 - 2000.

Furthermore, this catching and marking scheme was re-established in 2005. The red neckbands with white letters and/or numbers were used in the Czech Republic.
