Population structure of Parkia pendula (Fabaceae) in the fragments of the Atlantic Forest:The effect of fragment characteristics and the absence of the major animal disperser

Abstract

Parkia pendula is a tree dispersed by large vertebrates, which are extinct at the study site. We examined whether the species is capable of other means of dispersal and whether the fragmentation affects its distribution.
