The International Waterbirds Census in the Czech Republic in January 2006 and 2007

Abstract

In total, 160855 individuals of 54 waterbird species were recorded on 509 sites by the International Waterbird Census (IWC) in the Czech Republic in January 2006 and the coresponding totals for January 2007 were 174595 individuals of 54 waterbird species on 630 count sites. Malard (Anas platyrhynchos) was recorded as the most frequent and the most abundant waterbird species in both years.
