[RuCl2(p-Cymene)]2 Immobilied on Mesoporous Molecular Sieves SBA-15 as Catalyst for ROMP of Norbornene

Abstract

A new heterogeneous catalyst for ring metathesis opening polymerization (ROMP) has been prepared by immobilization of [RuCl2(p-cymene)]2 on mesoporous molecular sieves SBA-15. Catalyst could be easily separated from the reaction mixture in contrast to the corresponding homogeneous system and therefore polymers with reduced amount of catalyst residues were obtained
