Abstract

This study describes the history of Seventh-Day Adventism in Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia from its beginnings in this territory to the fall of the communist dictatorship in Czechoslovakia. Its main focus is the interaction between the Adventist church on the one hand and state and society on the other, as it got its shape between the years 1945-1969.

The key question here is, how the relationship between the communist totalitarian regime and the Adventist church developed from the prohibition of the church in 1952, only a few years after obtaining the state license, to the following permission of the church.
