Abstract
The study deals with the idea of God as thought of in, respectively, Alfred N. Whitehead's Process and Reality (1929) and Totalité et infini (1961) by Emmanuel Lévinas.
It reflects on the difference between the two accounts which, precisely in their opposition, might offer a witness about the God of philosophers in the European tradition.
