Abstract
This exegetical study about the biblical text of Genesis 32:23-33 offers an analysis of one of the most famous stories about the patriarchs of Ancient Israel and interprets it as a testimony obout the peculiar identity of Israel as people of God. Key motifs, semantics and composition of the text are explained.
