The judgement of suicidal risk in children and adolescents

Publication at Second Faculty of Medicine |
2002

Abstract

The authors deal with the process of the judgement of suicidal manifestations in children and adolescents. The judgement of suicidal behaviour must be complex and it must respect the developmental specifics.

Factors influencing markedly the diagnostic process must be considered. These are namely the specifics of cognitive and emotional development on the children's part and the potential distortion on the part of parents and further persons referring to the child.

The judgement of suicidal risk represents the significant aspect of diagnostics.
