Abstract

Reference values for urinary excretion of electrolytes in infants are rather rare. The authors succeeded in obtaining accurate collection of urine in a group of 30 healthy boys aged 2 - 12 months.

The following parameters were assessed in serum and urine samples: Na, K, Cl, Ca, phosphate, creatinine. Reference values for clearance and fractional excretion of these parameters were obtained.

Statistically significant correlations between age (2 - 12 months) and clearance and fractional excretion of the studied parameters were not proved.
