Publication |
2013

Abstract

Problems on vulvovaginal discomfort are the most frequent complains at a gynecologist, and it goes hand in hand with the prescription of anti-infective therapy. Often, however, we encounter cases with strong subjective discomfort, but the objective finding is very poor.

Symptomatic approach combined with the use of supportive treatment should be more frequent. There are many different aspects in the game, including psychosomatic factors, and some cases can be handled only in an interdisciplinary collaboration.

The publication presents rational description of the above issues and offers a section given to microbiological propaedeutic and especially to the practical use of microscopy. The aim is to concentrate majority of skills directly to the patient.

The authors try to point out the not yet solved issues related to recurrent problems and chronic cases. The review chapters and authors' own results enable specialists at the related fields like microbiologist-mycologist, immunologist, dermatologist, urologist and psychiatrist to present their views.
